Nashville area PADI Open Water Diver scuba lessons with Tennessee Divers.
Q: Why should you take PADI Open Water lessons with Tennessee Divers?
A: The answer is twofold.
First off, our founder Randy Cain was already a certified scuba diver, but as with many things, the techniques and equipment had changed over the years. As a result, he wanted to make certain that he still had the necessary skills and knowledge needed to be a SAFE diver.
When you take your PADI Open Water SCUBA training course with Tennessee Divers, you can rest assured that we'll spend the time needed to make you proficient in your skills and knowledge. It is our mission to ensure that you are comfortable in the water, and in the knowledge that you need to be a good beginning scuba diver.
Secondly, our course prices are ALL INCLUSIVE. You get to keep ALL of the educational material that is in the course. The PADI Open Water Diver Crew-Pak AND the PADI Open Water Diver Video on DVD are yours forever. That way you can go back and refer to that anytime you wish. That truly does make a Tennessee Divers trained scuba diver the safest diver in the Nashville and Middle Tennessee area.
Q: What do I need to start?
A: Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
* The PADI Jr Open Water Diver between the ages of 10 and 12 years may only dive with a PADI Professional, a certified parent or certified guardian to a maximum depth of 12 metres/40 feet.
Q: What Education material will I receive?
A: When you sign up for your PADI Open Water Diver scuba lessons with Tennessee Divers, you'll receive the PADI Open Water Diver Crew-Pak and the PADI Open Water Diver Video on DVD
Q: Should I begin studying immediately?
A: YES!!! The PADI SCUBA Diving Lesson System is geared towards independent study.Take the Crew-Pak home with you, watch the DVD, read the book, and answer the Knowledge Reviews in the book at your leisure. Then, when you meet with your Tennessee Divers instructor, we'll simply go over the Knowledge Reviews, and only go into detail on the items that you missed. This gets us into the water sooner practicing the actual scuba diving skills that you will do in the pool and open water dives.
Q: What will I do and learn during my lessons?
A: During your scuba diving training at Tennessee Divers, you’ll learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment, techniques, and procedures. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water (ocean, quarry, or lake) dives here in Nashville or Middle Tennessee.
Q: How long will it take?
A: All of the PADI SCUBA diving training lessons are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the course skills. Mastery is defined as someone being able to repeatedly and comfortably perform the skills and knowledge for the course they are enrolled in. A good time estimate is about between 32 and 40 hours of training. 10 hours of that will be the Knowledge Development portion, and the rest will be in the water.
Q: What's the cost?
A: Your price for PADI Open Water Diver lessons at Tennessee Divers is regularly $400.00. However, until Labor Day Weekend, your cost is only $295.00 This includes the following items:
