PADI Rescue Diver Lessons with your Tennessee Divers PADI Instructor
Why should I take PADI Rescue Diver Lessons with Tennessee Divers
Let's say that you, your spouse, and some family members are out at your private lake here in the Nashville or Middle Tennessee area. The sun is warm and inviting... All of you are either certified Open Water or Advanced Open Water scuba divers. The nearest town is about 30 miles away. It's a mini-vacation for you all.
Let's say that someone besides yourself has an accident... Will you know what to do?
Rewarding and fun – that best describes your PADI Rescue Diver lessons. This course will expand your scuba diving knowledge and experience level: Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other scuba divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.
What do I need to start?
You can enroll in the Rescue Diver Course as a certified Open Water Diver and participate in the Rescue Diver knowledge development and rescue training sessions, in confined water only, while working on your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
Minimum age: 15 years old (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
Successful completion of a sanctioned CPR program within the past 24 months. The Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) and Secondary Care (First Aid) course meets this requirement. Of course, you can get that training right here with Nashville based Tennessee Divers SCUBA Instructors.
What will I do?
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover:
Self-rescue and diver stress
AED and emergency oxygen delivery systems
dive first aid
swimming and non-swimming rescue techniques
emergency management and equipment
panicked diver response
underwater problems
missing diver procedures
surfacing the unconscious diver
in-water rescue breathing protocols
egress (exits)
first aid procedures for pressure related accidents
dive accident scenarios
How long will it take to earn my PADI Rescue Diver Certification?
Remember, all PADI scuba diver courses are performance-based, not time-based. A good rule of thumb is about 25 hours. The minimum water training time is 5 sessions over 2 days. What Education material will I receive?
When you sign up for your PADI Rescue Diver lessons with a Tennessee Divers scuba diving instructor, you'll receive the PADI Rescue Diver Crew-Pak and the PADI Rescue Diver Video on DVD.Should I begin studying immediately?
The answer is a big YES! When you receive the PADI Rescue Diver Crew-Pak and the PADI Rescue Diver Video on DVD, you can begin watching the DVD, reading the book, and taking the Knowledge Reviews in the book. Then, when you meet with you instructor, you'll simply go over the Knowledge Reviews, and only go into detail on the items that you missed. This gets us into the water practicing the actual scuba diving skills that you will do in the pool and open water dives that much quicker. What's the cost?
Your price for the PADI Rescue Diver course is regularly $310.00. However, until Labor Day Weekend, the price is $210.00. This includes the PADI Rescue Diver Crew-Pak and the PADI Rescue Diver Video on DVD, classroom sessions, pool dives, the PADI fees for your checkout dives, the entrance fees for your local checkout dives, and lunch on the local checkout days. If you want to do your checkouts at a location in Florida, then that too can be arranged for an additional cost. If you want to go down that path, be sure to talk to your Tennessee Divers PADI scuba instructor when you sign up.
What equipment will I need?
At this point in your scuba diving career, you should have your own scuba diving equipment. Of course, if you don't, you can rent it from us.
